One of my peer managers is transferring to another department, and I've been selected to take on her folks.
It makes the most sense. I had managed the NT and Notes environments - in addition to Unix - in the Eastern Region prior to the last major reorganization. I am the only remaining manager who has both a high level of technical skills and knowledge of our customers and infrastructure.
I know many of the people I will be taking on, and they are a good group.
Jeanie thinks it will look good on my resume, since I will now be managing the Unix, NT, Notes, and User Administration for all of North America.
My biggest concern is having enough time to do right by my new expanded team and customer base. If nothing else, life won't be dull...
