So, every now and then, I get this feeling like something has gotten stuck in my craw.
It is quite unpleasant, and once it starts, it takes about a day to subside. I don't think anything actually gets stuck, I think it is a muscle spasm.
A few weeks ago, I had an esophagram, which didn't indicate anything bad other than a hiatal hernia.
This morning, I had an endoscopy.
The most painful part of the procedure was having to wake up at 5:45 AM. The actual procedure was done "out-patient." After inserting an IV, the doctor gave me some demerol, and next thing I knew, I was in the recovery room. Other than a touch of a sore throat, I'm none the worse for the experience.
The good news is that once again, the doctor didn't find anything bad. He did indicate that I had an esophageal constriction, which he dilated while he was there.
The bad news is that no one knows why I get these "attacks" every now and then, but, as long as there's nothing bad wrong down there, I can suffer through the occasional discomfort.
