Driver conflicts

I had a devil of a time getting the pictures downloaded from the Canon G3.

I kept getting an error that the USB driver could not load.

I uninstalled it, and installed it again... no dice.

I uninstalled all of the software and reinstalled... no dice.

I rebooted... lots of times... no dice.

Finally, I tried rebooting while the camera was connected, and... success! Sort of...

The camera worked, but the driver for my Visioneer 8100 scanner wouldn't load.

Apparently, there is a conflict between the Visioneer USB driver and the Canon USB driver.

I scoured the web looking for updates or solutions.

Unfortunately, I have the most current drivers for both the scanner and the camera, and there was nothing I could find on the net regarding conflicts.

If I keep the Canon, I guess I'll have to hope for a future driver update, and in the interim, reboot with only one device or the other connected.

Not a deal breaker, but a definite PITA.
