Well, I think I've finally got it all worked out...
I called OneCall and begged and pleaded to allow me to exchange the S45 for a G3.
Even though their return policy is very clear about not accepting items for return if the box has been opened, they agreed to give me a credit for the S45.
I did have to pay to ship it back (perfectly reasonable) and they did charge me a 10% restocking fee, but I thought that was a much better alternative than dealing with the hassle and risk (and cost) of trying to sell the S45 on eBay!. And fortunately, their price on the G3 was very competitive.
Maybe their customer service is really that good, or maybe I got a smart sales rep who realized that rather than ending up with an unhappy customer, he could end up with a very happy customer and $300 more dollars in revenue for the company when all was said and done.
Whatever the reason, my S45 is on its way back, and my G3 is on its way here, and I'm a happy camper.
So, I guess all's well that ends well.
