A really sucky day

Yesterday really sucked.

I had to inform my entire team that they were being layed off.

I can think of few things that are worse to have to do as a manager.

Fortunately, I am blessed with a really great bunch of direct reports, who made a terribly difficult task for me much easier than it might have been.

I was not included in this layoff, but I figure the writing is on the wall, so I am aggressively seeking other opportunties...

I have two applications in process, and a few others that I haven't heard back on one way or the other. So far, all of the jobs I have applied for have been within the company, so I know I will at least get a "yes" or "no" rather than no answer at all.
