Almost Bought A New PC

Dell had a really sweet deal that I almost couldn't pass up...

They had a Dimension 4250 - mid-tower, P4 2.33GHz, 128MB, 30GB, CD-RW for only $339 after rebate.

They had some very nice upgrade options available too. I was drooling over a system that would have had P4 2.66GHz, 512MB, DVD +R/+RW, and a Radion 9000 Pro video card w/ TV tuner that would have only been around $575 after rebate.

But, I just couldn't justify it. Our existing system is really fast enough to do everything we ask of it.

Having a good TV tuner card and associated PVR software would have been fun, but with the new Time Warner box, we don't really need that functionality, and I'm still having trouble justifying purchasing a DVD burner because the media is still so expensive.

Oh well, I guess a penny saved is a penny earned, and it is a blessing to be in a position to be able to consider it, but to be able to pass because we already have a pretty decent system, plus two others, not including the work notebook.
