Do I have a cool wife or what?

How many men can say this?...

I have a wife who is so wonderful that she called and made an appointment - which she then drove me to - to take all my clothes off and have a young lady rub all over my naked body.

Now that's my kind of woman!

Okay, now, for all of you gutter minds...

My back pains have not subsided, so I went to the doctor on Tuesday. He took a number of x-rays, had me bend this way and that, and determined that the cause of my pain is most likely muscular spasms, as I had guessed.

He indicated that in addition to my daily stretches, application of ice, and ingestion of the drugs he had prescribed, some form of manipulation would be helpful.

I told him that I was already subject to daily manipulation - isn't that the definition of marriage?

No, not really - I didn't say it nor think it.

So, for the first time in my life, I set off for a massage.

Cary Massage Therapy Center is a very professional operation.

My massage therapist, Romi, made me feel very comfortable.

Generally, I'm not too keen on being touched. But I didn't mind the massage. It wasn't as wondrous as some folks make it out to be, but it wasn't unpleasant either.

Since it was my first time, I opted for the general head-to-toe Swedish type massage.

I guess it was relaxing, but my back hurt more when it was over, than before it started.

I gave it another try today, with a different therapist (Sally) and a different technique (Deep Tissue). The doctor had told me that it would require more than one session, and that different people responded differently to different therapists.

Sally concentrated only on my back, and was more vigorous in her kneading, but unfortunately, even though there was moments when it felt pretty good, I was once again worse off after than I was before.

So, maybe massage isn't my thing.

The doctor had also mentioned chiropractic and physical therapy, so, maybe it's time to try something different...

Anyway, since it is late, I think I'll pop a couple of muscle relaxers and some ibuprofen, and flee to the great land of unconsciousness that pain does not know.
