A New Record
I worked 107 hours this reporting week (7 days).
I have worked an average of 88.6 hours per week for the last three reporting weeks.
I have worked an average of 13.68 hours per day for the last 19 days straight.
Two more days to go, then I can get some rest.

Be Careful What You Wish For
When I was a boy, I used to so envy grown men when standing at the urinal...

No, not because of THAT!
Back then, my flow was strong but quick.
Hmm, that wasn't the only fluid related thing down there that was strong but quick, but, um, that's another matter...
Anyway, I used to envy those men who would stand at the urinal for what seemed an eternity.
If only I had known why they had to stand there so long...
Now, I find myself among those men who have to stand at the urinal for quite a while, with a less than satisfying output.
Hmm, er, never mind.
Anyway, I was tempted today to wish to once again have a strong, full flow.
But then I got to thinking...
With my luck, that would be achieved at the expense of a painful operation, that would (again with my luck) leave me impotent and incontinent.
I guess I'll just be grateful for what I have, and hope I can maintain what I've got.

On Pace For A 100+ Hour Work Week
Well, I didn't end up leaving after all. But, I did notice that at this rate, I will end the week having worked 101 hours. Not that that's a good thing mind you. It's been a long time since I worked a Franklin... Oh well, now I really am heading off...

It's Lonely At The Bottom
Here I sit in Dallas, TX, in the middle of my third week away from home, and my eighteenth consecutive 12 plus hour work day...

Poor pitiful me.
I am so tired, and I still have 77 tables on 43 pages to edit/verify/complete.
I guess I could pack up and go back to the hotel...
At least I'd be more comfortable there.
Hmm, good idea. See ya!

Funeral Procession
A woman was leaving a convenience store with her morning coffee when she noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery...

A long black hearse was followed by a second long black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary woman walking a pit bull on a leash. Behind her, a short distance back, were about 200 women walking single file.
The woman couldn't stand her curiosity. She respectfully approached the woman walking the dog and said, "I am so sorry for your loss, and I know now is a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this.
Whose funeral is it?"
"My husband's."
"What happened to him?"
The woman replied, "My dog attacked and killed him."
She inquired further, "Well, who is in the second hearse?"
The woman answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my husband when the dog turned on her."
A poignant and thoughtful moment of silence passed between the two women.
"Can I borrow the dog?"
"Get in line."

A Woman's Prayer
Dear Lord,
I pray for:
Wisdom, To understand a man.
Love, To forgive him and;
Patience, For his moods.
Because, Lord, if I pray for Strength I'll just beat him to death.

Home Sick
I finally got home Friday night after having been gone for the last 12 days and promptly got sick...

Between the stress and the back-to-back 80+ hour weeks, I guess my immune system was weakened, so I was more susceptible than usual. It's very strange how my body seems to be able to know when I am going to have a few days down time. I used to regularly get sick just as I arrived at my In-laws for Christmas. At first, I think they thought it was a reflection on my feelings about them, but after a few years, I think they realized that it had nothing to do with them, but was instead tied to my body breaking down after the urgency of work let off.
Anyway, I spent a good part of yesterday sleeping, and then in the afternoon, the symptoms really hit - headache, fever, vomiting, back pain. Fortunately, I am starting to feel a little better today. My guess is I'll be all better by tomorrow, just in time to get back to work...
